Strategy (Direction)

Our vision – To become the most revered Community Amateur Sports Club in Chelmsford and wider Essex county.

Our Approach – Through honour, community spirit, family values, inclusivity and an enterprising attitude, create the right environment to welcome and encourage players of all gender, ages and ability to play cricket.

Our Values – Authenticity, Transparency, Inclusivity, Fairness, Competitiveness & Opportunity.

 

 

People (Skillsets/mindsets)

Invest in our members - Improving facilities, professional coaching, creating a family friendly culture, engagement through social events, building a one club mindset, creating a sense of belonging not just to a team/club but to a community.

Youth development  - Motivate young cricketers, provide them opportunities to contribute at all levels and play a central role in the club’s growth.

Women's cricket - Develop an accessible and inclusive pathway for women/girls to actively participate play and follow cricket.

Diversify our member profile - Welcome, encourage and celebrate players from various different cultures, ethnicities, nationalities and societal backgrounds.

Community engagement – Support local community initiatives, charity fundraising, increase clubs presence in the local community (shop front/notice board ads etc.)

Cricket education and training – Imbibe cricketing ethos, achievable coaching framework, player development, umpiring coaching and certifications, scoring coaching and certifications

 

 

Structure (Management)

Lean governance framework – to produce meaningful value to all members

Clear definition of roles and responsibilities – to understand and implement an effective operational model

Transparency – so all members understand how the club is run and how they can contribute

Long term outlook on investment – to ensure focus on critical growth areas

 

 

Processes (Information/Guidelines)

Team selections process - To ensure fairness, opportunity, inclusivity, competitiveness and maintain alignment.

Grievance and complaints handling process - To ensure any issues are handled professionally and with utmost integrity, impartiality and decency.

Budget allocation and spending reviews - To ensure club finances are being distributed for the necessary upkeep and development of the club and its members

Feedback and continual improvement process - To constantly identify and mitigate risks at an early stage or make most out of improvement opportunities.

Communications, Culture and Social – Clear communication framework for internal and external communication and strategy to improve club image through social media and other avenues. A strong social calendar with events for all players and their families.

Sponsorship management – A process-based approach to identifying sponsors and obtain additional funding for the club. Clear protocols on how to manage sponsors and external stakeholders, to ensure continuation of the partnership and explore further growth opportunities.
